SAPS sets to recruit applicant for 2025 intake. The South Africa Police Service (SAPS) recruitment of qualified Applicants for 2024 / 2025 intake is expected to begin in September, however we will update here with the relevant guidleines.

The Service seeks to recruit patriotic citizens who are willing to protect and proud to serve the country by pursuing a career as entry Police Trainees for enlistment in the Basic Police Development Learning Programme (BPDLP). SAPS application is easy, and you will be required to provide your personal details, educational qualifications, and employment history.

Requirements

1. have permanent residence in the Republic of South Africa of which documentary proof must be
   furnished;
2. have a grade 12 school certificate or equivalent qualification of which documentary proof
   must be furnished;
3. own a valid driving license for at least a light motor vehicle will serve as an advantage;
4. Be proficient in at least English and one other official language;
5. Be at least eighteen (18) and under thirty-five (35) years of age of which documentary proof must be furnished;
6. Have no previous criminal convictions and shall allow his or her fingerprints to be taken and background
   enquiries to be made
7. Not have any tattoo marks which will be visible when wearing any uniform of the Service;
8. Be ready to take the oath of office;
9. Submit himself or herself to a physical medical examination according to the National
   Commissioner; and must be physically and mentally fit for appointment in the post for which
   he or she applies;
10. Undergo and pass a psychological assessment according to the National Commissioner and comply with the profile of a police official.
11. be ready to undergo such training as determined by the National Commissioner successfully
12. be ready to serve anywhere in the Republic of South Africa.

• Interested applicants should submit their applications on the official application form, which can be
  obtained free of charge from any Police Station / SAPS Recruitment offices or downloaded from
  the SAPS Website (https://www.saps.gov.za). The Z83 previously utilized will no longer be
  accepted.
• Attached uncertified copies of the following documents to your application form:
  • Identity Document;
  • Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification;
  • Tertiary Qualifications;
  • Academic Record;
  • Driver’s license (where applicable);
  • Testimonial (School / Church / Traditional Leaders)
  • Service Certificates of previous employers (if applicable)
